GGF is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for Chain of Custody and Forest Management thereby demonstrating our full compliance with recognised international standards of social and environmental responsibility. No other Loreto-based forestry company has achieved this certification. GGF operates within strict compliance of Peru’s Forestry Law 27308 and each year we submit a detailed extraction plan for approval by the government authorities. We map each tree for extraction and use Helveta's innovative supply-chain technology to record species, measurements and GPS coordinates. This system provides full chain of custody tracking to prove legality and provenance in compliance with international laws such as those defined under the Lacey Act (USA) and Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT – EU). GGF received a grant from the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) for implementing Helveta and has received assistance from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for FSC certification. Additionally, Rainforest Alliance has provided technical expertise to optimise our sawmill operations. |
